Ingredients for Marbled Chocolate Cake
Here the main ingredients you’ll need to make this festive chocolate Bundt cake:
- Butter: use unsalted butter for making the cake batter.
- Sugar, Eggs, Milk, Flour: for making the cake batter.
- Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips: for making the dark chocolate portion of the cake.
- White Chocolate Chip: use melted white chocolate for the second half of the cake.
- Chocolate & Heavy Cream: for making the chocolate ganache topping.
- Berries & Nuts: I used fresh cranberries, pomegranate arils and shelled pistachios for garnishing the top of the cake, making it look extra festive for Christmas. Feel free to garnish the cake with your favorite toppings.
Secret for the Best Bundt Cake!
I love making bundt cakes because they’re so easy to make and delicious! My secret to creating the most incredible bundt cake? Two ingredients: butter and melted chocolate! The chocolate adds not only flavor but extra moisture. These two combined together create an unforgettable cake that is extra moist and simple melts in your mouth. If you’re concerned about the sweetness, you can reduce the amount of sugar from 1 cup to 3/4 cup or even 1/2 cup.
How to Make a Marbled Chocolate Bundt Cake
Making this marbled cake is super easy! Here’s how to make that marbled affect!
- Preheat oven to 350F. Spray a Bundt pan with baking spray or butter and flour; set aside. In a large bowl, beat together the softened butter, sugar and vanilla for about 5 minutes until light and creamy. Add the eggs and mix until well combined. Fold in the milk.
- In a separate bowl, combine the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder and salt. Use a fine mesh sifter to add the flour into the batter, mixing after each addition just until the flour is combined. Divide the prepared batter between two large bowls.
- Melt the dark and white chocolate in separate bowls. Add the melted dark chocolate and the melted white chocolate into the second bowl. Stir the chocolate into the batter until well combined.
- Once the batters are ready, layer them alternating into a well-floured or sprayed Bundt cake pan. Use a knife or a long toothpick to gently swirl the two batters together.
- Bake in preheated oven for about 60 to 75 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Remove from oven and invert onto a cake platter.
Garnishing the Bundt Cake
Once the cake is done baking and cooling, garnish the top with using my chocolate ganache recipe. It’s super easy to make and the perfect topping for this marbled chocolate Bundt cake! Top the ganache with berries and nuts, if desired. I used shelled pistachios, cranberries and pomegranate to make the cake festive for Christmas.

Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, softened at room temperature
- 1 1/2 cups white granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup milk
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup dark semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
For Garnish:
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- pomegranate arils
- pistachio halves
- cranberries
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350F. Spray a bundt pan with baking spray or butter and flour; set aside.
- In a large bowl, beat together the softened butter, sugar and vanilla for about 5 minutes until light and creamy. Add the eggs and mix until well combined. Fold in the milk.
- In a separate bowl, combine the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder and salt. Use a fine mesh sifter to add the flour into the batter, mixing after each addition just until the flour is combined. Divide the prepared batter between two large bowls.
- Melt the dark chocolate and white chocolate in the microwave. Add the melted dark chocolate to one bowl, the white chocolate to the second bowl. Use a spatula to fold the chocolate into the batter until completely incorporated.
- Spoon the batter into prepared bundt pan, alternating between dark and white chocolate batters. Then take a knife or flat spatula run through the batter in a swirl motion. Bake in preheated oven for about 60 to 75 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Remove from oven and invert onto a cake platter.
- Once cake has cooled, prepare the ganache. Heat the heavy cream in the microwave until piping hot, then add the 1/2 cup chocolate chips. Stir until completely melted and smooth. Drizzle chocolate over cake ring, then garnish top with pomegranate arils, pistachio halves and/or whole fresh cranberries.
- Serve immediately or covered on kitchen counter for up to 2 days.

Hi! When using a stand mixer, I recommend going with the whisk, especially for creaming the sugar and butter together. I recommend whisking the dry ingredients into the batter by hand though to avoid overmixing
