Ingredients for Easy Cucumber Salad
Here are my tips for the main ingredients you’ll need to make this easy cucumber salad. Find the full list of ingredients with measurements in the printable recipe card below.
Jump to Recipe- Cucumbers – my favorite variety for this recipe is Persian cocktail cucumbers. You don’t need to peel these and they’re super crunchy. You can also use English cucumbers; however, I recommend peeling these and removing the seeds for better texture.
- Garlic – fresh garlic is truly the best for this recipe! It will add incredible flavor and aroma. Use either microplaner to grate the garlic, or a garlic press to press the cloves.
- Dill – fresh herbs are a must for this salad. I personally love fresh dill, but you can also use cilantro, parsley, or fresh basil.
- Lemon Juice – a squeeze of fresh lemon juice adds a bright flavor to the salad!

How to Make Garlic Cucumber Salad
This cucumber salad is super easy to make, and you can have it ready in no time! Here’s how to make it:
- Wash and pat dry the cucumbers. Cut off the ends of each cucumber, then chop them into ½-inch chunks. Drop the cucumbers into a large mixing bowl.
- Next, finely chop the fresh dill and add to the bowl.
- Use a microplaner to zest the garlic into the cucumbers, or use a garlic press to press the cloves. Feel free to add more or less garlic, to taste.
- Squeeze the lemon juice over the cucumbers, then add the white wine vinegar and olive oil. Season the salad with sea salt, ground black pepper, and sugar.
- Use a spoon to toss everything together.
Serving & Storing Cucumber Salad
- Allow the salad to stand at room temperature for 15 to 20 minutes, then serve and enjoy.
- Need to make the salad ahead of time? Combine the cucumbers and fresh dill in a bowl. Mix the remaining ingredients, including garlic, in a small bowl, creating a dressing. Mix everything together when ready to serve.
- Store any salad leftovers in the refrigerator.

Easy Variations on the Recipe
This easy garlic cucumber salad is great with other salad ingredients, too. Try these variations on the recipe! Add one or all of the additional ingredients for a delicious twist on the recipe.
- Avocado – creamy, cubed avocado is fantastic with crunchy refreshing cucumbers!
- Tomatoes – chop the tomatoes into small chunks and add to the salad. If the tomatoes are particularly watery, remove the seeds before adding them to the salad.
- Red Onion – another great flavor profile to add to the salad.
- Bell Peppers – crunchy, delicious peppers complement the crunchy cucumbers!
