Ingredients for Grilled Turkey Meatballs
Here are the main ingredients and supplies you’ll need to create this dish at home. Find the full list of ingredients in the printable recipe card below.
- Reynolds Wrap® Heavy Duty Foil – this strong and durable foil is perfect for cooking heavier foods since you don’t have to worry about it ripping or tearing!
- Ground Turkey – I recommend using 93% lean ground turkey. Having a little extra fat in the meat will result in juicier meatballs!
- Fresh Mint & Dill – fresh herbs are a must for this recipe. They add incredible flavor and aroma.
- Garlic – I love lots of garlic in this recipe! You’ll need some for the meatballs and for the dipping sauce.
- Pistachios – adding pistachios to these turkey meatballs not only adds a delicious and unique twist, but it also helps bind the meat together, so the meatballs hold their shape better.
- Plain Breadcrumbs – if you only have seasoned crumbs on hand, those will work, too.
- Plain Yogurt – I usually go with a whole milk yogurt since it’s creamier, but feel free to use your favorite variety. Greek yogurt works well, too.

How to Make Turkey Meatballs
These easy turkey meatballs come together in no time! I use a food processor to make the process super quick. If you don’t have a food processor, use a chef’s knife to finely chop the garlic, pistachios and fresh herbs, then use a grater to grate the onion.
- Prepare the meatball mixture first. Place the pistachios, onion, garlic, fresh mint, fresh dill, and egg into a food processor. Pulse until the mixture is smooth and the pistachios are finely ground.
- Transfer the onion, garlic, and herb mixture into a large mixing bowl. Add the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, and season with salt, pepper, coriander, and cumin.
- Use a spatula or your hands to gently combine all the ingredients together, creating a uniform mixture.
- Tear off a 20-inch sheet of Reynolds Wrap® Heavy Duty Foil and place it onto a baking sheet or large cutting board. Drizzle the foil with a tablespoon of oil to prevent the meatballs from sticking.
- Use a 1 ½ tablespoon measuring scoop to measure out the meat mixture for each meatball, placing them directly onto the foil. Lightly oil your hands, then gently shape and roll each scoop into a ball.

Grilling Meatballs with Reynolds Wrap® Heavy Duty Foil
Reynolds Wrap® Heavy Duty Foil is always a staple in my kitchen, especially during grilling season. Using foil to grill these turkey meatballs is a no-brainer! The foil will keep the meatballs from sticking to the grates and makes grilling a breeze.
- Preheat the outdoor grill for at least 10 minutes, to 500°F. Reduce the flames to medium.
- Gently slide the sheet of foil with the meatballs onto the grill grates. Close the grill for faster cooking.
- Use rubber tipped tongs to gently rotate the meatballs as they grill, every 4 to 5 minutes for approximately 20 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F. Once cooked, remove the meatballs from the grill and keep warm.

Making the Garlic Yogurt Dipping Sauce
You’ll love the creamy garlic dipping sauce that goes with these grilled turkey meatballs! It’s super easy to make and tastes so delicious!
Simply place the yogurt into a small bowl. Grate or press in the fresh garlic. Add the chopped fresh herbs, season with salt and pepper, and add the lemon zest. Stir and serve with the meatballs.
