If you’re a chocoholic like me, try dipping these macarons into melted chocolate for even more flavor. Just melt 1 cup of dark chocolate or white chocolate melts in a small bowl. Dip the cookies half way, then set onto a wire rack for the chocolate to set completely. You can also add sprinkles to make these even more extravagant!
As with all macarons, I recommend giving these treats some time to ‘mature’ for maximum flavor. Just place the macarons into an airtight container once you have them assembled. Refrigerate the cookies for at least 2 days, allowing the macaron shell to soften. Remove them from the fridge a few hours before enjoying, to allow the buttercream to thaw.
